| Glue Traps It is our belief that mouse and rat glue traps are one of the cruelest pest control devices on the market today. These torturous devices consist of a plastic, cardboard or fibreboard tray with a silicone adhesive coating which is designed to catch and hold rats and mice. Why are glue traps cruel? Animals caught on glue traps often suffer for days before dying of exposure, predation, suffocation, starvation, dehydration or shock. Some animals resort to self mutilation and chewing off their limbs in a desperate attempt to escape. In addition, painful injuries including broken limbs are often sustained while the trapped animal attempts to free itself. Not just a hazard to mice and rats! Glue traps are also hazardous to other non-target animals including lizards, juvenile possums, small snakes, native rodents, birds and even companion animals, which frequently fall victim to these devices. |
